Birth Doula Service

Service Description

If you decide to enlist me as your doula, I will meet with you an additional time prior to your labor to gain a better sense of your goals and your ideal birthing experience. This meeting will allow you to express any fears, uncertainties, or preferences you may have regarding the labor and birth. I will inquire about your childbirth preparation and preferred relaxation techniques. Upon your early or active labor, I will be available to accompany and support you when necessary, wherever you plan to labor and birth your baby. Birth doulas DO NOT provide medical care. A birth doula is an advocate, present for continuous emotional support to empower you and your partner, ease fears, and provide physical support as needed by way of offering evidence based suggestions to increase comfort measures naturally. I will remind you of your goals and capabilities in your moments of vulnerability and celebrate with you in your moments of achievement. I will stay beyond the birth as is appropriate for each family. The birth doula service includes two postpartum visits meant to allow for reflection and processing of the birthing experience.
